YOUR STAY

Tisciano is made up of a main house and a separate guest cottage, which works particularly well when you are travelling with a larger family or a group of friends.

Inside, the house has plenty of character. Old stone, plaster walls, fireplaces and arched doors sit alongside mid-century furniture and simple, comfortable rooms.

Three bedrooms are in the main house, while another three are in the guest cottage. Everyone stays close, but you do not have to share every part of the day.

The master bedroom has its own fireplace and dressing area, giving you somewhere to retreat to when you want a quiet morning. Other bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms and views towards the gardens.

Step outside and the house opens up around you. There are courtyards, lawns and shaded places to sit, so you can move outside whenever the weather is good.

You might start the morning with coffee in the garden, spend the afternoon beside the pool and come back inside only when it gets cooler.

THE RESCHIO ESTATE & OUTDOOR LIFE

You have 2,700 acres to explore around Tisciano, with woodland, olive groves and open countryside stretching across the Reschio estate.

Walking is the easiest place to start. Take a few hours to follow the paths, stop somewhere along the way and come back when you feel like it.

For something a little faster, take one of the estate's mountain bikes. The countryside gives you plenty of space to ride without having to follow a fixed route.

Horse riding is another big part of life at Reschio. The estate's equestrian centre is nearby, with riding experiences available for different levels.

Tennis is an option too, while the wider estate gives you plenty of other ways to spend time outdoors.

Then again, you may not want to go anywhere. Sit beside the pool, walk through the garden or find a shady spot beneath the trees and enjoy having the day to yourself.

POOL & RELAXATION

The 18-metre pool sits on the hillside below the house, looking out across the surrounding countryside. There is a shallow cascade at one end and a covered loggia where you can escape the sun.

Take a swim before breakfast or settle beside the water with a book. The pool is large enough for a proper morning swim, but you can just as easily spend the afternoon doing very little.

Around the house, the gardens give you plenty of quieter places to sit. Lavender, thyme, fennel, roses and fruit trees bring plenty of colour and scent to the grounds.

The outdoor fireplace is particularly nice later in the day. Sit down with a drink as the temperature drops and stay outside for a while longer.

Inside, underfloor heating keeps the house comfortable during cooler months. The bedrooms also have air conditioning for warmer days.

Your bathroom gives you another chance to slow down. Heated towel rails and Ortigia bath products are small details, but they make a difference after a long day outside.

FOOD & EVENINGS

The kitchen is one of the main working spaces in the house. It has a professional Officine Gullo cooker and plenty of room for your chef to prepare meals.

You can eat inside when you want something more formal, or take dinner outside beneath the pergola.

Lunch could be a long, relaxed affair after a morning ride. Later, come back to the kitchen for a drink or sit outside while dinner is being prepared.

The wider Reschio estate gives you more options when you do not want to cook at home. You can head to the hotel, book a table at one of the estate restaurants or simply stay at Tisciano and make an evening of it.

Perhaps everyone gathers around the table and dinner carries on for a few hours. On another night, you might eat outside, light the fireplace and stay in the garden until late.

There is no need to make every evening an occasion. Sometimes a quiet meal and a bottle of wine are enough.

PRIVACY & SERVICE

Tisciano feels like a private country house, even though you are part of the larger Reschio estate. The separate cottage makes it particularly easy for larger groups to have some personal space.

Housekeeping takes care of the property during your stay, including regular cleaning and turndown.

You also have access to the Reschio concierge team. If you want to arrange horse riding, tennis, mountain bikes, a restaurant booking or something further afield, they can help.

The pool and gardens are looked after during your stay too, so you do not need to spend your holiday worrying about the practical details.
