Joali Water Villa
Maldives
1 Bedroom
You wake up above the lagoon at JOALI Maldives, with nothing between you and the Indian Ocean. This 240-square-metre water villa gives you one bedroom, a private pool and a large deck looking out over the water. Up to three guests could stay here, although the space feels especially suited to a couple who want plenty of room to themselves. Your Jadugar is on hand throughout the stay, leaving you free to decide what you want to do with the day.

YOUR STAY
Most of your time here will probably happen outside. The deck gives you a place to have breakfast, stretch out in the sun or sit with a drink while the water moves below you.
Inside, things feel spacious without being overly formal. There's a separate living area, a large bedroom and a bathroom with a standalone tub and twin vanities. Glass doors open towards the deck, so you don't lose sight of the lagoon when you move indoors.
You also get plenty of small places to settle into. Read on the sofa for a while. Take a bath before dinner. Open the doors in the evening and let the sea air come through.
The villa sleeps up to three people, making it possible to bring a child or another guest without giving up your own space.
YOUR PRIVATE DECK
Step outside and the lagoon is right there. A few steps take you from the deck into the water, while the infinity pool gives you another option when you'd rather stay close to the villa.
Perhaps you'll spend an hour in one of the overwater hammocks. Later, move to a sun lounger and order something cold. When the afternoon heat starts to ease, you could take a paddleboard out or go snorkelling around the reef.
Nothing has to be planned too far ahead. Your Jadugar could arrange the equipment, organise a boat trip or simply leave you to enjoy the villa.
And if you don't feel like leaving the deck at all, that's perfectly fine too.
WELLNESS & RELAXATION
You don't need to leave the villa to slow things down. Start the morning with yoga outside, take a swim and then spend some time in the deep soaking tub.
Private treatments could also be arranged in your villa. A massage or facial becomes a much easier decision when you don't have to get dressed and walk somewhere else afterwards.
The outdoor shower is another nice touch after you've been swimming. Rinse off, change into something comfortable and carry on with the afternoon.
For a quieter moment, settle into the hammock with a book. The only real distraction is the view.
FOOD & JADUGAR SERVICE
Your Jadugar looks after the details that might otherwise take up your time. If you want breakfast brought to the villa, a special dinner arranged on the deck or an excursion organised for the following morning, you simply ask.
Meals could be as relaxed as you like. Have breakfast overlooking the water, stop for something light during the afternoon and make dinner more of an occasion later in the evening.
You could also choose to spend the evening at the resort rather than staying in. Either way, your Jadugar can help with the arrangements.
There's a certain freedom in having someone else deal with the timings. You decide what you feel like doing; the rest gets taken care of.
ART & INTERIORS
JOALI Maldives brings art into the guest experience, and the water villa follows the same idea. You'll find carefully selected pieces alongside natural materials, timber finishes and custom furniture.
The design isn't trying to compete with the ocean outside. Large glass doors keep the lagoon as the main feature, while the interiors give you somewhere comfortable to escape the heat.
As the light changes through the day, so does the feel of the villa. Morning brings bright views across the water, while the space becomes quieter and more intimate after sunset.
PRIVACY & SERVICE
Your villa gives you a private base above the lagoon, while the wider resort remains close whenever you want more from the day.
Getting around is simple. Buggy service takes you between the villa and the resort's facilities, while your Jadugar can help organise dining, activities and excursions.
Some days might be full of plans. You could head out on the water, spend time exploring the island and come back for dinner. On another day, stay in your swimming shorts until late afternoon and barely move beyond the deck.
That flexibility is part of the appeal. You have your own space, your own pool and the Indian Ocean immediately outside.
