Islas Secas
Panama
7 Casitas
You arrive at Islas Secas by boat or air and suddenly there is very little around you. Just jungle, open Pacific water and 14 islands scattered across the Gulf of Chiriquí. Seven casitas accommodate up to 18 guests, so you have plenty of room if you are travelling with family or a group of friends. Spend the day diving, fishing or exploring the islands, then come back for a swim and dinner under the stars.

YOUR STAY
There is no big hotel building here. Instead, the casitas sit separately among the trees, connected by paths and surrounded by jungle.
That gives you a nice sense of space. Someone in your group might be having a quiet morning on their own, while everyone else is already down by the water.
The interiors are comfortable without trying too hard. Timber, local stone and natural fabrics give the rooms a warm, relaxed feel, and the large glass doors bring plenty of the outside in.
Your bathroom might become one of your favourite places. Open-air showers, soaking tubs and views of the surrounding greenery make getting ready feel rather different from doing it at home.
For families, the larger casita layouts provide more room to spread out. Couples and smaller groups have their own private spaces too.
Then there is the simple pleasure of opening your doors in the morning. The jungle is right outside, the sea is nearby and there is nowhere you need to rush to.
LIFE ON THE PACIFIC
Most of your time at Islas Secas will probably involve water in some way.
Take a boat out after breakfast and see where the day takes you. Maybe you want to fish for a few hours. Perhaps a quiet beach and a long swim sound better.
Diving and snorkelling bring you closer to the marine life around the islands. Trips can also take you towards Coiba National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rich marine environment.
Keep your eyes open while you are out there. Depending on the season, you could encounter humpback whales, manta rays, whale sharks and other marine life.
For a bit more excitement, grab a SeaBob or paddleboard. Kayaks are available too, while the private catamaran gives you more space for a longer trip around the Pacific.
Not every day needs to be busy. Find a quiet stretch of coast, swim for a while and let the afternoon disappear.
POOLS & WELLNESS
Your own plunge pool gives you an easy escape when the heat starts to build. Go for a quick swim before breakfast or spend an hour there after returning from the ocean.
Tucked into the greenery, the outdoor spa feels quite separate from everything else. Book a massage, settle into a treatment and listen to the sounds coming from the jungle.
Yoga takes place in an open-air pavilion overlooking the landscape. Early mornings are especially peaceful, although there is no particular reason you have to get there early.
A walk through the island trails is another option. Put on your shoes and explore for an hour, or simply wander around the property when you feel like stretching your legs.
Afterwards, you can always return to your casita. Cool down, grab a drink and take the rest of the afternoon slowly.
FOOD & EVENINGS
Food is planned around you and your group. The chefs prepare meals according to your preferences, using local ingredients and produce where available.
Breakfast could be as simple as coffee and a relaxed meal before heading out. Lunch might be back at the property, or packed up for a day on the water.
By evening, everyone tends to come back together. Outdoor dining makes sense here, with the Pacific and surrounding jungle providing the backdrop without needing much decoration.
Head over to the Terraza when you want a drink after dinner. There is also a library, so you could just find a comfortable spot and read for a while.
Some nights will be lively. Others might end with you walking back to your casita, listening to the jungle and wondering how early you really need to get up tomorrow.
PRIVACY & SERVICE
With just seven casitas spread across the island setting, you never get the feeling of being packed into a resort.
Book Islas Secas privately and the whole experience becomes even more personal. Your group has its own space, its own schedule and plenty of freedom to decide what each day looks like.
A dedicated team handles the practical side of your stay. Meals, housekeeping, boat trips and activities can all be arranged around you, so you don't have to spend your holiday organising every little detail.
Marine biologists are part of the team too. They can join you on the water and help you understand more about the wildlife and environment around the islands.
When you want to explore, the boats are ready. If you would rather stay on land for the afternoon, nobody is going to rush you.
That is really the appeal of Islas Secas. You get to decide what you do, when you do it and how much of the day you want to leave completely empty.
