Glenfeshie Lodge
Scotland
7 Rooms & Suites
Glenfeshie Lodge gives you 45,000 acres of Highland countryside to play with. The seven-room Victorian lodge sits deep in the Cairngorms, with the River Feshie running nearby and Caledonian pine forest all around. Bring the whole family, come with friends or simply take the lodge for a few days and settle into the quiet. You could spend your mornings walking or fishing, then be back by the fire before dinner.

YOUR STAY
You notice the setting before anything else. There are trees, mountains and open ground in almost every direction, and very little to distract you from it.
Inside, Glenfeshie keeps its old Scottish character. Tartan, wood, traditional furniture and open fires give the rooms a comfortable country-house feel. Nothing feels too formal.
Seven bedrooms give you space for up to 12 guests. Four are double rooms, another is a twin, and there are two smaller single rooms that work particularly well for children.
The sitting room will probably become one of your favourite places. Have a drink by the fire, pick up a book or sit with everyone after dinner and talk about the day.
Then there is the dining room. Come down early for breakfast before heading out, or take your time over dinner when nobody is in a hurry to leave the table.
THE CAIRNGORMS & OUTDOOR LIFE
You don't need to drive anywhere to find things to do. The estate itself gives you miles of countryside to explore, with forest paths, open hills and the River Feshie nearby.
Put on your walking boots and head out after breakfast. Perhaps you'll follow the river for a while. Maybe you'll take a longer route through the pine forest and see where it leads.
Fishing gives you another reason to spend time outside. Local ghillies can help organise trips and guide you around the surrounding waters.
Wildlife is part of everyday life here too. Keep your eyes open while you're walking and you may spot some of the animals and birds that live in the Cairngorms.
For a change of pace, take a vehicle out into the estate. You can cover more ground that way, then come back to the lodge when you've had enough.
And if none of that sounds appealing? Stay home. Sit outside with a coffee, watch the clouds move across the hills and enjoy having nowhere else to be.
WELLNESS & RELAXATION
After several hours outside, the hot tub is an easy choice. Get in, warm up and look out across the Highland landscape while everyone else catches up.
You can also try wild swimming in the River Feshie. The water is cold, so this is definitely not for everyone, but it makes for a memorable way to start or finish a day.
Prefer something a little more comfortable? Treatments can be arranged at the lodge, including massages and other wellness experiences.
Your bedroom gives you another place to switch off. Run a bath, close the door and forget about the rest of the group for an hour.
Or simply go for a walk. There is plenty of room around Glenfeshie, and sometimes that's all you need after a busy day.
FOOD & EVENINGS
Your meals are organised around you rather than a fixed hotel schedule. If you're leaving early for a day outdoors, breakfast can be arranged around your plans.
A private chef prepares the food, with Scottish ingredients and seasonal produce taking their place on the menu. Venison, fresh fish and other local ingredients could feature depending on the time of year.
Lunch might be quick because everyone wants to get back outside. Dinner is different. Sit down together, pour a drink and take your time.
Once you've eaten, there are no rules about what happens next. Stay at the table and keep talking. Find a chair beside the fire. Pour yourself a whisky and settle in.
Some nights might go on for hours. Others will finish early because everyone is tired from being outside all day.
PRIVACY & SERVICE
You get a lot of space at Glenfeshie. With 45,000 acres around the lodge, your group has plenty of room to wander without having to follow busy tourist routes.
A dedicated team looks after the house while you're here. Your chef takes care of meals, housekeeping keeps everything in order and local guides can help with activities.
Thinking about fishing tomorrow? Ask. Want to spend the morning walking and do something different after lunch? That can be arranged too.
The lodge also works well when you're travelling with a bigger family. The different bedrooms give everyone their own space, including separate rooms for children.
Arriving by helicopter is possible when arranged in advance, giving you another way to reach the estate.
Once you're settled in, the rest is really up to you. Fill the day with activities, stay around the lodge or do a bit of both.
