Deplar Farm
Iceland
13 Rooms & Suites
Deplar Farm puts you in the middle of Iceland's remote Fljót Valley, with mountains, open countryside and very little around you. The former farm now houses 13 rooms and suites, with warm Nordic interiors and large windows looking out across the landscape. You can arrive by private charter or helicopter, then spend your days exploring the Troll Peninsula with your own guides. Once back, slow things down in the geothermal pool, enjoy a treatment or settle in beside the fire.

YOUR STAY
You get a very different sense of space at Deplar Farm. The lodge sits deep in the valley, surrounded by mountains and open land, so your time here feels removed from the usual pace of a luxury resort.
Inside, the design stays fairly simple. Warm sheepskin, textured walls, Moroccan wool and Icelandic artwork bring character to the rooms without taking attention away from the views. Large windows let you keep an eye on the landscape as the weather and light change outside.
The Grettir Suite gives you 95m² of private space, with a king-size bed, fireplace, bateau bathtub, personal sauna and north-facing balcony. Other rooms include lofted sleeping areas, steam showers and balconies, giving you a choice of spaces depending on how you want to spend your stay.
ADVENTURE
You do not come to Deplar Farm simply to sit indoors. The surrounding mountains and coastline give you an enormous area to explore, with activities changing naturally with the seasons.
In winter, you can board a helicopter from one of the property's two private helipads and head into the mountains for a day of heli-skiing. When summer arrives, the same landscape becomes a setting for Arctic char fishing, sea kayaking and horseback riding.
Your guides can shape the day around your group. Go out early and stay on the mountain, take a slower morning at the lodge or return for lunch before heading back into the wilderness.
WELLNESS
After a day outside, you can take your time in the lodge's extensive wellness area. The geothermal pool runs from indoors to outdoors, giving you a warm place to swim while looking out towards the Icelandic landscape.
A sauna, steam room, hot tubs and cold plunge give you several ways to unwind. You can also spend some quiet time in one of the i-sopod flotation tanks or book a massage or beauty treatment in the treatment rooms.
For something more active, head to the fitness centre or yoga studio. There is also a Pilates reformer and Peloton equipment if you want to keep moving during your stay.
MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT
You may expect a remote Icelandic lodge to be quiet, but Deplar Farm has plenty to keep you occupied once you return from an adventure.
Flóki Studios gives you a professional recording space within the property. Musicians and creative groups can use the studio during their stay, while the Band Loft offers a more informal setting with more than 30 instruments, lighting and performance equipment.
Elsewhere, you can watch a film in the private cinema, play billiards, challenge someone to foosball or try your hand at shuffleboard. Later, the cocktail bar and main fireplace give you somewhere to sit and talk.
DINING
Food at Deplar Farm draws heavily from Iceland and the surrounding region. Your meals are prepared using local ingredients, including Arctic char, salmon and organic lamb, with the menus shaped around your group.
You can start the day with breakfast before heading out, return for lunch between activities or sit down for a longer dinner in the evening. There is no need to rush through a meal when the rest of the evening is yours.
Wine, Champagne, spirits and cocktails are also available, giving you plenty to choose from when you return from the day's adventures.
PRIVACY & SERVICE
Deplar Farm's remote position is a big part of what makes the stay different. You are surrounded by Icelandic wilderness rather than busy roads, neighbouring hotels or crowds, giving you plenty of space to enjoy the property at your own pace.
Your team can organise the practical side of the trip, from airport transfers and private helicopter arrivals to guides and equipment for your chosen activities. Daily housekeeping keeps everything in order while you are out exploring.
You can fill every day with adventures if you want to. Equally, you can stay at the lodge, take a long swim, enjoy the spa and watch the landscape change outside your window.
