Sainte-Foy, France

5 Bedrooms

Chalet Pelerin sits at the top of the small hamlet of Le Miroir in Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, surrounded by the mountains of the Tarentaise Valley. The five-bedroom chalet gives you a private base for up to 12 to 14 guests, with wide views towards Mont Pourri and plenty of space to settle in. YOUR STAY

You get a real sense of privacy at Chalet Pelerin. Set above the historic village, the chalet feels removed from the busier parts of the Alps while still giving you access to some of the region's best-known ski areas.

Inside, old Savoyard details sit alongside modern comforts. Original timber beams, natural stone and French antiques give the rooms a strong sense of place, while the open-plan living area gives everyone somewhere to come together.

Four king-size en-suite bedrooms have private balconies and views across the valley. A separate bunkroom has four twin beds and its own bathroom, making it a practical option for younger guests.

The main salon centres around a double-sided stone fireplace, giving you an easy place to warm up after a day outside. When you are ready to eat, the open kitchen and dining area keep everyone close to the action.

SKIING & MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES

You have a wide choice of mountains to explore from Chalet Pelerin. Several major ski resorts are within around 30 minutes, including Val d'Isère, Tignes and Les Arcs, giving you plenty of terrain to choose from during your stay.

Private mountain guides can join you for the day, whether you want to explore familiar pistes or head further into the backcountry. Your group can set the pace, stop for lunch when you like and return to the chalet whenever you have had enough.

For something more adventurous, the Italian border opens up opportunities for heli-skiing. Helicopter access takes you away from the busy pistes and into quieter mountain terrain, with long descents and views across the surrounding Alps.

Back at the chalet, your ski gear has its own dedicated space. The mudroom includes equipment storage and technical clothing drying facilities, so everything is ready when you head out again.

PRIVATE WELLNESS

After a full day in the mountains, you can make your way downstairs and slow things down. The wellness level has an indoor freshwater pool with a counter-current system, giving you the option of a relaxed swim or a little exercise.

The Finnish sauna provides a warmer, drier space to unwind, while the Moroccan hammam gives you somewhere to sit back in the steam.

When the weather is clear, step outside to the hot tub on the private terrace. You can soak in the warm water while looking across the snow-covered peaks, with the mountains still visible as the evening sets in.

Treatments and physiotherapy can also be arranged at the chalet. If you would rather spend some quiet time on your own, the outdoor terraces provide space for yoga, stretching or simply taking in the view.

DINING & THE ALPAGE

Food is an important part of the stay. Your private chef prepares meals around your group's preferences, using local ingredients and the chalet's open kitchen to create everything from relaxed breakfasts to longer evening dinners.

The wood-fired pizza oven gives you another option when you want something more informal. After dinner, your private sommelier can help select wines to go with the meal, or you can head to the bar for a drink.

One of the more unusual experiences takes you away from the chalet altogether. The Alpage is a historic sheep herder's hut in the surrounding wilderness that has been set up as a private dining outpost.

You can make your way there for an evening away from the main chalet, sit down to dinner by candlelight and enjoy the setting before returning to your mountain base.

ENTERTAINMENT & SERVICE

You do not have to plan an activity every hour of the day. The chalet gives you plenty of reasons to stay in when you want a quieter afternoon or evening.

The private media lounge has deep sofas, surround sound and gaming consoles, making it an easy place to settle in after skiing. Younger guests also have their own play area with built-in bunks and board games.

Outside, the dining terrace gives you another place to spend time together. Fire up the pizza oven, have a meal outdoors when the weather allows or simply sit back and enjoy the valley views.

Your dedicated team takes care of the practical details throughout the stay. From housekeeping and meals to transport, mountain guides and equipment, arrangements can be made around your group and your plans.
