YOUR STAY

The rooms have a fairly simple feel to them. Timber, exposed concrete and soft fabrics give you warmth without covering everything in the usual alpine decoration.

Walk into your suite and you have two levels to work with. The bedroom and main bathroom are upstairs, while another washroom sits near the entrance. At around 55 square metres, there is enough space to settle in properly without the room feeling unnecessarily large.

Outside, your terrace or garden gives you somewhere to sit when you want fresh mountain air. In summer, you might spend more time out there. During winter, even a few minutes outside with a coffee can be worth it.

Travelling with friends or family? Thirty suites mean you can keep everyone close while still giving each person somewhere to retreat. Take over the property privately and you have room for as many as 90 guests.

THE MOUNTAINS

There is a lot of ground to cover around Monterosa. The ski area has about 170 kilometres of slopes, so you could spend several days here without skiing the same way twice.

Getting to the mountain does not need much thought. A private shuttle takes you towards the Champoluc and Frachey lifts, leaving you free to concentrate on the day rather than the logistics.

Your ski gear stays in its own room back at the hotel. Lockers and boot facilities make the return from the slopes easier, especially when you have spent the day in deep winter conditions.

You might also want to try something different. A private guide could take you further into the mountains, while instructors, heli-skiing and other activities can be arranged around what you want to do.

Come back in summer and the valley feels completely different. Snow gives way to trails, forests and long days outside.

SPA & WELLNESS

Once your legs have had enough for the day, head down to the wellness area.

The 25-metre indoor pool gives you somewhere to swim properly rather than just take a quick dip. Large windows look towards the surrounding woodland, so you can stay inside while still feeling connected to the landscape.

A sauna sits outside in the snow, which is especially enjoyable in winter. After some time in the heat, you can head back inside for the Turkish hammam or use the hydromassage showers.

The outdoor hot tubs are there when you want to do very little. Get in, settle back and look up at the mountains.

Need something more active? The Technogym fitness area gives you the equipment for a proper workout. Private treatment rooms are also available, with therapists on hand for massages and other treatments.

CLIMBING & DINING

The climbing wall is probably one of the first things you will notice when you spend time in the main lounge. It runs through the building rather than being tucked away in a separate room, so climbing becomes part of the atmosphere.

Winter adds another option. The outside of the property can be used for ice climbing, giving experienced guests something different to try.

If you would rather watch than climb, take a seat at the Doping Bar. You can have a drink there while the activity continues around you.

When hunger takes over, choose between two restaurants. Summit focuses on Italian cooking, while 1568 Japanese Steakhouse brings Japanese techniques together with local ingredients.

There is no need to rush through dinner. Sit with your group, order another drink and let the evening carry on naturally. Later, you can head back to your suite or stay downstairs a little longer.

PRIVACY & SERVICE

You get plenty of privacy here because of the property's position in the Ayas Valley. Champoluc and the ski lifts are still accessible, but you are not staying in the middle of a busy resort.

Throughout the day, the team handles the things you would rather not think about. Your mountain concierge can arrange instructors, guides, heli-skiing and other excursions, while private drivers take care of local journeys.

For a group trip, having that support makes a difference. You can decide what you want to do in the morning and leave the team to sort out the details.

Maybe you spend most of the day skiing. Someone else in your group might stay by the pool, while another person books a treatment. Everyone gets to follow their own plans and meet again later for dinner.

If you book the entire property, up to 90 guests can stay together. You get the privacy of your own mountain base without having to split the group between different hotels.
